THE SOPADI AND IOM FOR THE PROMOTION OF MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT TO REDUCE The IMPACT NEGATIVE OF VIOLENCE AND CRISES, INCLUDING COVID 19 " IN the central AFRICAN republic.
With funding from the IOM, the Solidarity for Peace and Integrated Development, SOPADI in acronyms, just close the project "Department of mental health and psychosocial support to reduce the negative impact of violence and crises, including COVID-19 in the Sub-Prefectures of BOUAR and BERBERATI "in the central African Republic. This project started in the month of May 2021 to be completed in November 2021, with satisfactory results according to the testimonies of beneficiaries. The final beneficiaries of the project are : Persons who are victims and/or survivors of violence and crises, including COVID-19, local authorities, the medical and paramedical staff, local leaders such as women's groups and youth as well as the religious leaders of the areas of intervention.
In the framework of the capacity-building, local authorities, the medical and paramedical staff, local leaders such as women's groups and youth as well as the religious leaders of the areas of intervention, 112 people have been trained, of which 51 men and 61 women in Bouar.
These training sessions were closed to Bouar on October 27, 2021, with the formation of 8 Trainers in Psychological First Aid (PSP) and on support, psychological distress, more severe to the place of 15 medical staff, paramedical staff and the referring community.
Sensitization of the masses have been carried out through interviews and radio broadcasts on local radio stations of Bouar (MAIGARO, NDEKE LUKA, GIRA and SIRIRI) and Berberati (ZOUKPANA and NDEKELUKA). These sensitizations have touched thousands of persons and the administrative authorities and health of the Prefectures of NANA-MAMBERE and MAMBERE KADEI have testified their satisfaction on the results of these sensitizations especially the campaign of vaccination COVID-19.
